I am fortunate to have received amazing educational opportunities, working my undergraduate studies in Geography and History in London and Germany,and graduating from the University of Denver, with Honors, in Cultural Geography, American History and Education. I did not go directly into education but continued my studies at UNM in Educational Thought and Social Cultural Studies and worked in the travel field for 20 years. I taught in many capacities after my travel work, including ESL, tutoring, and classroom teaching. From the classroom I went to work for non-profits, most importantly as the Founding Executive Director of The Golden Apple Foundation of New Mexico for Excellence in Teaching. I will bring a diverse background and a practical manner of tutoring. My students and I work together, assuring not only understanding and learning the subject, but creating a sense of self esteem and accomplishment.
